Creating a new model from scratch
Open Etabs 13 Portable and click on File > New Model.
Select a template for your model based on the units, code and design preferences. You can also customize your own template by clicking on Edit Template.
Enter the basic information for your model, such as project name, location, description and grid dimensions. Click OK to create the model.
Define the materials, sections, loads and load combinations for your model using the Define menu or the Assign menu.
Draw the structural elements, such as beams, columns, walls and slabs, using the Draw menu or the Quick Draw toolbar. You can also use the Replicate and Extrude commands to copy or extend elements.
Assign the boundary conditions, supports, releases and hinges to the elements using the Assign menu or the Assign toolbar.
