How to Install Focom Software
To install Focom software, follow these steps:
Download the latest version of Focom software from www.obdtester.com/focom/download.htm[^1^].
Extract the zip file to a folder on your PC.
Run the setup.exe file and follow the instructions on the screen.
When prompted, enter your license key that you received by email after purchasing Focom software.
After installation is complete, connect the Focom interface to your PC using the USB cable.
Wait for the drivers to install automatically. If they do not install automatically, you can find them in the Drivers folder of the Focom software installation directory.
Launch the Focom software from the desktop shortcut or the Start menu.
How to Use Focom Software
To use Focom software, follow these steps:
Connect the Focom interface to your vehicle's OBD-II port using the OBD2 cable. The OBD-II port is usually located near the steering wheel.
Turn on the ignition of your vehicle but do not start the engine.
On the Focom software main screen, select your vehicle model and year from the drop-down menus.
Click on the Connect button. The software will automatically detect the control units installed in your vehicle and display them on the screen.
Select the control unit that you want to diagnose from the list. For example, if you want to diagnose the engine, select PCM (Powertrain Control Module).
The software will display the identification information of the selected control unit, such as part number, software version, manufacturer, etc.
To read fault codes, click on the Fault Codes tab. The software will display all stored and pending fault codes with complete description. You can print or copy the fault codes report by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of the screen.
To clear fault codes, click on the Clear Fault Codes button. The software will erase all fault codes and other diagnostic information from the selected control unit.
To display live data, click on the Measured Values tab. The software will display live data like engine speed, battery voltage, oxygen sensor, coolant temperature, etc. You can select which values you want to see by checking or unchecking the boxes next to them. You can also display values in graph mode, 9 values at once mode, or full listing mode by clicking on the buttons at the top of the screen. To perform actuator tests, click on the Actuators tab. The software will display a list of available actuator tests for the selected control unit. For example, if you selected PCM (Powertrain Control Module), you can test fuel pump, injectors, spark plugs, etc. To perform an actuator test, select it from the list and click on the Start button. The software will activate or deactivate the selected actuator and display its status on the screen. To stop an actuator test, click on the Stop button.
